Self-Care for Busy Moms: Eating Well, Mediterranean Diet Recipes, Time Management, Stress Management, Strength Exercise
Are you struggling to stay consistent to a healthy diet? Do you feel frustrated with the setbacks from poor food choices that affect your body and mood? Is it a challenge to maintain motivation to exercise regularly given your busy schedule?
I am so excited you’re here! This podcast will help you find ways to have habits for physical health and fitness, and for mental and spiritual wellbeing so you can have long-term strength and greater peace!
Hey, I’m Susan. A friend of Jesus, a wife, and boy mom. For many years, I struggled with finding time, motivation or the discipline to exercise regularly or have any self-care. My life was increasingly busy with my kids and their schedules and I lacked consistency and habits that put importance on self-care. My striving to keep everything going smoothly in my family pushed me to ignore many things…balance, friendships, mental drain, overwhelm, mild depression.
I finally realized that in order to have physical health as well as mental well-being and peace, I needed to slow down and tend to myself in order to be there for my family. I focused on physical therapy and strategies to relax and de-stress through self-care. This started a decades-long process of learning to find what works and does not work for me.
I created a strategy that works with ME. A step by step process that I could actually stick with. Even when there are times I fall off, this process helps me get back on track faster so that I can stay the course over time for long-term health and strength. And I’m ready to share it with you!
If you are ready to finally implement strategies for busy moms so you can have…
Physical Health and Fitness,
Mental and Spiritual Strength,
Discipline and Consistency,
Personal Time and Relaxation,
- this podcast is for you!
Grab your step counter and don't forget your sunscreen! It's time to walk together!

Are you wondering how to navigate this Thanksgiving and Christmas season with your health intact? Do you want to stay consistent with your health goals through Thanksgiving?
Today’s episode is going to be a pep talk to encourage you to find ways to stick to your healthy lifestyle and to your long term health by making a mental commitment before the holidays.
Early on, avoiding Thanksgiving food felt disciplined but created tension and backfired. Over time, I learned a moderate, intentional approach works best—planning balanced meals, contributing nutrient-dense dishes, and eating a small snack beforehand to support eating well. Preparing mentally before the holidays prevents overindulgence disguised as “once a year” treats. This year, I committed to movement, micro workouts, strength training, and family-focused habits. Simple systems like meal plans, Mediterranean diet recipes, community support, stress management, and time management make healthy choices sustainable through the holiday season.

Do you or a loved one face pre-diabetes and you’re wondering how to tackle the Thanksgiving dinner? Are you afraid that you may have to skip the Thanksgiving meal because of all the carbs? Is the thought of going to a family Thanksgiving meal stressing you out?
In this episode, I’m going over 4 strategies to tackle the Thanksgiving meal so that everyone can partake and enjoy this season of thanksgiving together as a family.
Thanksgiving meals can honor tradition while supporting eating well, even for a prediabetic diet. Choose one non-negotiable favorite, then plan a balanced menu with low-glycemic vegetables, lean proteins, and simple swaps inspired by Mediterranean diet recipes. Modify dishes thoughtfully, offer smart beverages, and prep ahead to reduce stress. Flexibility allows cultural traditions and health to coexist, keeping the focus on gratitude, family, and ease. Pair mindful holiday eating with strength training, stress management, and good time management for overall wellness.

Are you in a self care rut? Do you feel drained from pouring into your family? Are you feeling stuck on what you can do to feel healthy and to feel better?
Today we’re going to get into the weeds of strategy and the number one routine you can start to feel better again. Let’s dive it!
Developing morning and evening routines helps meet basic self-care needs amid life’s chaos. Start by defining clear, purposeful goals—like strength training, stress management, or quiet time with God—and identify 1–2 habits to support them. Use time management to schedule routines realistically, track progress for consistency, and adjust as needed. Build in flexibility and self-compassion for life’s interruptions. Consistently following routines supports eating well, incorporating Mediterranean diet recipes, and overall health, enabling you to care for yourself and your family while making a generational impact.
Scripture referenced:
Proverbs 3:6
Proverbs 16:9

Hey Friend!
Is there a family history of diabetes? Has the doctor given you a heads up about being careful to manage prediabetes? Do you know anyone with prediabetes, or is struggling to manage it? Then this is the episode for you. I believe that in this day and age, we know at least one person that either deals with diabetes or prediabetes. Please share this episode to encourage your loved ones and also to be equipped to support one another along this journey.
In this episode, I’ll briefly go over what it means to be prediabetic and what entails a prediabetic diet. Then we’ll dive into 4 strategies to stick to a prediabetic diet and finally, we’ll end with some encouraging words.
My family history of diabetes shows that type 2 diabetes can affect anyone, not just those who are overweight. Early testing, awareness of prediabetes, and lifestyle changes can prevent progression. Focusing on eating well with balanced plates, inspired by Mediterranean diet recipes, helps stabilize blood sugar. Practical strategies include keeping food simple, planning one meal a day, batch prepping, and leaning on support. Pair nutrition with strength training, stress management, and good time management. Progress—not perfection—matters.
Waiting on the Lord brings renewed strength for the journey.

Are you feeling drained and feeling burdened? Do you feel like you are running on fumes? Is Sunday your day to get through all the to-do’s and shopping lists that you find you don’t have time to rest that day? What is a sabbath day? Is that only on the day you go to church?
Today we’re going to discover why rest is so important and why God commanded us to have a Sabbath rest and what that actually means.
God designed us for rest, not nonstop work. Daily sleep and weekly Sabbath rests are blessings that bring physical refreshment, healing, mental clarity, stress management, and spiritual renewal. Scripture shows that rest helps us hear God more clearly and restores our strength. Protecting sleep through healthy routines, eating well, and wise time management—and honoring a weekly Sabbath—allows God to work while we pause. Rest is worship, a gift, and preparation for life’s battles, alongside practices like strength training, Mediterranean diet recipes, and balanced living.

Is the fall weather kicking in where you live and making you think about warm and cozy things to eat? Are you finding that salad is just chilling to your bones right now? Do you want to find something you can just put together in one pot and forget it?
I will share the one Mediterranean recipe that my family loves when the weather gets cold and when they want to snuggle in.
This episode weaves the Bible story of Jacob and Esau with a practical, nourishing staple: lentil soup. Inspired by a Lebanese neighbor, lentil soup became a meaningful Mediterranean diet recipe that supports eating well, stress management, and time management for busy families. It’s affordable, pantry-based, nutrient-dense, and adaptable for stovetop, slow cooker, or Instant Pot. Beyond food, it highlights everyday moments to teach Scripture and faith at home—fueling bodies, strengthening families, and supporting healthy rhythms alongside habits like strength training.

Do you love the idea of meal planning but don’t know where to start? Have you tried meal planning and found it too complicated and ended up spending way too much time and money? Is your family tired of the same thing for dinner because you have been too busy to think of anything else to make?
In this episode, we’re going to dive deep into meal planning and more specifically about themed meals.
Cooking often feels like survival, not fun—but eating well matters for health, budget, and family connection. After years of failed meal plans, this approach uses themed meals based on familiar cuisines to reduce decision fatigue, save time, and limit waste. The process: define weekly themes, assess pantry and schedule, pick simple recipes with overlapping ingredients, create a flexible meal plan and shopping list, then prep, implement, and adjust. This rhythm supports time management, stress management, family life, and complements goals like mediterranean diet recipes and strength training—all while trusting God with the process.

What kitchen appliance can help you get a meal together for your family in 5 to 10 minutes? Are you looking for the one tool that will help you feed your family fast? This appliance has been around for a while and it’s the humble panini press.
Today’s the episode for you if you are looking for a tool to help get dinner on the table in 5 minutes!
The panini press, once forgotten due to diet changes and kitchen clutter, is now currently a daily lifesaver. Rediscovered with the help of a simple olive oil sprayer, it makes quick, low-mess meals like grilled cheese, turkey avocado paninis, quesadillas, and grilled veggies in minutes. It saves time, reduces cleanup, and supports eating well with flexible options, including gluten-free and Mediterranean diet recipes. Small tools can greatly improve time management, stress management, and make room for healthy habits alongside priorities like strength training.

Do you think that strength training is only for weightlifters? Are you wondering how to boost your long-term health? Are you avoiding strength training because you don’t want to “bulk up”? Are you more of a cardio-workout gal, and don’t think you have time to do strength training?
In this episode, I will dive into the long-term benefits of strength training and 7 ways this benefits our mental wellbeing and our mobility. Don’t we all need more mental wellbeing and to increase our mobility, and not be stiff in our movements? So let’s get started!
After 40, strength training became a practical, time-efficient shift from long cardio, inspired by calisthenics and real-life results. Short, consistent workouts now support long-term health by preserving muscle and bone density, improving mobility, preventing injuries, and enhancing brain function. Strength training also plays a key role in stress management, better sleep, and emotional wellbeing. When paired with eating well and simple mediterranean diet recipes, it supports healthy weight, blood sugar balance, and effective time management for a full, active life.
Scripture referenced: 1 Corinthians 15:43, Psalm 92:12-15
Ab workout: 30 seconds on and 15 seconds rest
-V in/out
-Russian twists (or seated rotation)
-Leg raises
-Reverse crunch
-Oblique crunch
-Flutter kicks

Hey Friend!
When you think of Mediterranean foods do you only come up with gyros and souvlaki in your mind? Does Mediterranean food conjure up a picture of a table with a plate of hummus with pita bread on the side and a backdrop of bright white Greek buildings and a clear blue sky? While hummus, pita, gyros and souvlaki all are part of the Mediterranean cuisine (Egyptian, Lebanese, Greek, etc), the Mediterranean diet is a broader and a loose guideline based off of the Mediterranean cuisine.
In this episode, I will go over the details of what a Mediterranean diet looks like. If you want clarity on what that looks like and how to implement it in your daily life, this is the episode for you!
The Mediterranean Diet is a flexible, stress-free way of eating well that focuses on quality, variety, and consistency—not counting calories or macros. It emphasizes plant-based foods, healthy fats like olive oil, moderate fish and poultry, minimal red meat, low to moderate dairy, and generous herbs and spices. This mindset supports heart health, stress management, and sustainable time management in the kitchen. With prayer and wisdom, we can shop and cook without fear, trusting God to nourish our families. Simple Mediterranean diet recipes, movement like strength training, and faith all work together for holistic health.
